The areas of training in this educational activity will include a description of the critical role of hand hygiene as a foundation for preventing HAIs and review proper hand hygiene technique, including the key moments to perform hand hygiene; illustrate various methods to monitor hand hygiene adherence such as monitoring tools and feedback reports; and discuss common barriers such as internal and external motivators that influence infection prevention behaviors.

HH 101 Core Concepts for Hand Hygiene: Clean Hands for Health Care Personnel Reviews the critical role of hand hygiene as a foundation for preventing HAIs and reviews proper hand hygiene technique as well as the key moments to perform hand hygiene.

HH 102 Hand Hygiene: Education, Monitoring, and Feedback Illustrates different methods to use to monitor hand hygiene adherence and components to include on monitoring tools and feedback reports about hand hygiene adherence.

HH 103 Identifying Motivators for Hand Hygiene: External and Internal Factors Discusses common barriers to the performance of hand hygiene and how external and internal motivators can influence infection prevention behaviors.
