This module will cover the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Addition (DSM-5) assessment criteria, and explore how to discuss this diagnosis with patients. Additionally, this training seeks to increase practitioners` understanding of the different types of medications used for medication assisted therapy (MAT) for OUD.

Please refer to the CDC Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Chronic Pain for additional information as needed during this training.

• Describe Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) assessment criteria for OUD
• Describe how OUD is diagnosed and how it can be discussed with patients
• Describe the types of medications used in medication assisted therapy (MAT)
