This module will require you to identify and consider important patient factors that will help practitioners assess whether to prescribe opioids. This activity will prompt you to utilize interactive scenario exercises to identify and consider harmful patient risk factors, and choose appropriate strategies for setting goals with patients. These exercises will also have you identify appropriate methods for assessing patients’ pain and function and for conducting appropriate follow-up. Please refer to the CDC Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Chronic Pain for additional information as needed during this training.
