CE Expiration:  11/05/2022, 11:59 PM (ET)
Available CE:  CME, CNE, CEU

The CE Deadline has been updated to November 5, 2022.

The 2016 CDC Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Chronic Pain is in the process of being updated to include new evidence and recommendations on acute, subacute, and chronic pain. The updated clinical practice guideline is intended to help improve communication between healthcare professionals and patients and empower them to make informed, patient-centered decisions related to safer and effective pain care.

The goal of this training is to provide an overview of the motivational interviewing technique and how it can be best applied in a clinical setting where patients are suffering from chronic pain. This module will either introduce practitioners to the concept of motivational interviewing in a clinical setting or add to their understanding of its application through the use of various tools and learning scenarios. Participants will be guided to consider how best practices in patient-provider communication can be applied to their profession.

Please refer to the CDC Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Chronic Pain for additional information as needed during this training.
