This educational activity is made up of four (4) episodes (created August 2021) designed to prepare frontline healthcare personnel and the public health workforce to protect themselves, their patients, and their communities from infectious disease threats, focusing on ventilation, source control, and hand hygiene. This series of trainings is intended to present not just the recommended infection control practices, but the science and reasoning behind them. The four (4) episodes that make up this activity are as follows:

Episode 17: What is Ventilation?

Episode 18: Why Does Ventilation Matter?

Episode 23: What is Source Control?

Episode 21: Do We Really Have to Talk About Hand Hygiene? Again? Yes!

Continuing Medical Education for Physicians (CME):

In support of improving patient care, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention designates this Enduring material  activity for a maximum of 0.25  AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Continuing Nursing Education for Nurses (CNE):

In support of improving patient care, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention designates this activity for  0.25 nursing contact hours.

Continuing Pharmacy Education (CPE):

In support of improving patient care, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention designated this Knowledge event for pharmacists to receive 0.025 CEUs in pharmacy education. The Universal Activity Number is JA-4008229-0000-21-235-H01-P.

TCEO does not provide CPE certificates. As a Pharmacist, you must log into the CPE monitor 8 weeks after the activity to obtain CE credit.
