Module 6: Data Screening Analysis is the sixth online module in a series of eight about ATSDR’s method, known as the public health assessment (PHA) process to evaluate exposure to hazardous substances.

At the conclusion of Module 6, the participant will be able to:

  1. Describe the basics of the screening analysis used in the PHA process.
  2. Define ATSDR screening levels, known as comparison values (CVs).
  3. Identify non-ATSDR screening levels.
  4. Define health guidelines and list examples.
  5. List the steps of the screening analysis.
  6. Describe ATSDR's approach to selecting appropriate ATSDR screening levels (CVs) and/or non-ATSDR screening levels.
  7. Identify contaminants needing further evaluation.
  8. Illustrate the screening steps using the Gala Lumber Company fictional case study..
