The 2022 STD Prevention Virtual Conference is sure to enlighten, challenge, and inspire participants while addressing a range of topics around the conference theme, “Virtually Possible: New Horizons in Sexual Health.” The four-day conference program includes:

  • Five conference plenaries and two mini-plenaries, providing multiple perspectives on essential STD research from technological advances in health to STD transmission dynamics
  • 12 oral abstract driven sessions, and one poster/late-breaker sessions featuring cutting edge developments in STD program prevention and research from institutions around the world  
  •  6 symposia sessions highlighting the latest developments in STD prevention and control  
  •  Four debates and three panel session on 1) Syndemics, 2) Doxycycline PEP, and 3) Monkeypox

Prerequisites

The conference is open to anyone interested in Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) trends, screening, treatment, and prevention; however, it is specifically designed for physicians, scientists, public health officials, community workers, clinicians, nurses, program managers, and other professionals who need STD treatment and prevention information as part of their profession (i.e., programmatic, research, policy, clinical practice, community-based practice).

Continuing Medical Education for Physicians (CME):

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Live Coalition of STD Directors. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention designates this Live   activity for a maximum of 6.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Continuing Nursing Education for Nurses (CNE):

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is a pre-approved provider of Certified in Public Health (CPH) recertification credits and is authorized to offer 7 CPH recertification credits for this program.

Continuing Education Contact Hours for Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES):

Sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a designated provider of continuing education contact hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. This program is designated for Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES®) and/or Master Certified Health Education Specialists (MCHES®) to receive up to 6.5  total Category I continuing education contact hours. Maximum advanced level continuing education contact hours available are 0. Continuing Competency credits available are 6.5.  CDC provider number 98614.

TCEO does not provide CPE certificates. As a Pharmacist, you must log into the CPE monitor 8 weeks after the activity to obtain CE credit.
