The goal of this web-based activity is to educate Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) healthcare providers on the Outpatient Procedure Component Same-Day Outcome Measures (OPC-SDOM) protocol and application of the OPC-SDOM protocol in order to improve patient outcomes in the ASC environment related to falls, burns, wrong events and direct admissions to a hospital from an ASC.

Prerequisites

The target audience is Ambulatory Surgery Center healthcare personnel involved in infection control. Participants should have some clinical background. The participants should be familiar with the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) Outpatient Procedure Component manual document and NHSN application, available on the NHSN website.


Continuing Education Accreditation Statements
Continuing Nursing Education for Nurses (CNE):

In support of improving patient care, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention designates this activity for  0.5 nursing contact hours.

IACET Continuing Education Units (CEU):

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is authorized by IACET to offer 0.1 CEU's for this program.

TCEO does not provide CPE certificates. As a Pharmacist, you must log into the CPE monitor 8 weeks after the activity to obtain CE credit.
