This activity offers healthcare providers a technical training video and multiple companion materials (to be kept for reference) on the epidemiology, clinical characteristics, treatment, diagnostics, and geographic distribution of Rocky Mountain spotted fever (RMSF) and other tickborne diseases in the United States. The items collectively serve as a healthcare provider toolkit, which includes a Training video, Physician Pocket card, Clinical Timeline, and Tickborne Diseases of the United States Manual.
The learner will have the opportunity to review the toolkit materials at their own pace. While reference materials include information on several tickborne diseases in the United States, some materials apply only to RMSF. Learning objectives emphasize the early recognition of RMSF signs and symptoms and selection of the appropriate antibiotic therapy for suspected RMSF cases.
